Free Quote & Invoice Generator for UK Carpenters

Create professional, fully itemised PDF quotes and invoices in under 60 seconds. No registration or account needed.

Site carpentry is a day rate plus timber, fixings and ironmongery. First fix and second fix involve different tasks, materials and time on site, so one labour line loses the job.

Built Specifically for UK Carpentry Professionals

  • Day Rate & Materials: Put the days on one line and the timber, fixings and ironmongery you are supplying on another.
  • Customer-Supplied Doors: Leave their doors and ironmongery off the total, so you only price the work you are doing.
  • First Fix & Second Fix: Price them separately where the scope, materials and time on site differ.
  • Fitting Conditions: Say when the house is not ready for the fit, so extra time is agreed rather than absorbed into the original days.

Free quote and invoice template for carpenters

Use Quote for the days and the timber before you load the van. Use Invoice when the second fix is finished and you are billing what you fitted. The PDF keeps the row order, so put the days first if that is how you explain the job.

Tick Add VAT on carpentry only when the day rate and the materials are net and you are VAT registered. The PDF adds 20% on top. Leave it off for a labour-only fit if the figure you typed is the amount they will pay. Your document is not stored.

Between jobs, the same day-and-materials split is what Pencil for UK carpenters can build from the notes you send on WhatsApp.

What to include on a quote for UK carpenters

Site carpentry goes wrong when the timber and the ironmongery sit inside the day. These three lines separate them.

  • Second fix labour, per day. Skirting, door linings and hanging, as days rather than one lump.
  • Timber and fixings supplied by you. Left off the paper entirely if the customer is supplying them.
  • Ironmongery, hinges and latches. Named, so soft-close and proper hinges are not a surprise.

Frequently asked questions

Is this carpenter’s quote generator free to use on site?
Yes. You can make a quote or an invoice for as many jobs as the week needs, with no account. Download the PDF. Your document is not stored.
How do I add VAT to a carpentry day rate?
Type the net day rate and the net timber, then tick Add VAT. Twenty percent is added on top. If the customer’s price was agreed including VAT, leave the box off and type the gross figures instead.
Should a carpenter’s first visit be a quote or an estimate?
A measured opening with the doors already chosen can be a quote. A loft hatch you have not seen, or timber you have not specified, is an estimate until the sizes are real. Pick the heading that matches what you will stand behind.
What if the customer is supplying the doors?
Leave the doors off the lines and say so in the job title. Charge the hanging and the ironmongery you are still buying. A total that includes their doors is how the price gets disputed on fit day.
