- It is a quote when the metres, the product and the subfloor are known. It is an estimate when you have not seen whether the floor needs plywood, or whether a pattern will waste more than a plain roll. Stairs, a landing and a large repeat belong on the lines once they are agreed.
- Who supplies the underlay and the gripper rods?
- Whoever you write down. If they are yours, add them. If the customer is supplying the carpet, leave the roll off the total and still list the underlay, the gripper, the door bar and the fit. A wood floor’s thresholds and a vinyl floor’s adhesive work the same way.
